What with Aishwarya Rai backing out of Bhandarkar's Heroine since she is on the family way, the opportunity seems to have landed straight on Kareena's lap. Although she was considered for the role before Ash, Bhandarkar went ahead and booked the latter who dropped out later.
While the producers considered other top line heroines, Kareena has towered over the other choices. And guess what she demanded for the role when the producers went ringing her door bell? A cool 10 crores. After further negotiations, the fee is brought down to 8 crores, still making her the highest paid actress of all times in Indian cinema.
